Place Value Learning
This project focuses on the development of place value understanding from kindergarten to second grade. In one study, we tracked developmental changes in children's place value concepts using a broad range of place value measures. In another study, we used principles of relational learning (i.e., structure mapping and statistical learning) to design and test new ways of teaching place value structure to kindergarten students.
